Thanksgiving 2008

Here are the last two weeks via my camera:

On the 22nd I took pictures of my sweet friends for their Christmas card. Turns out I was early and stopped by this great old church I have always admired.
And I also got a shot of Southfork. We lived near there for a couple months while the house was being built and this is the first time I got a decent pic of the front:

Here is a pic of me, my honorary little sis and her hubby who I took a bunch of pics of. I don't want to steal thunder so I'll just add this one of the three of us.

Straight from there I met up with Billy, BIL Mike, SIL Teresa and niece Sydney to watch our nephew Kyle's flag football game: (Kyle on the left)

Billy got a pic of us cold girls. Kyle with his mouth guard cracks me up:

Last Sunday at church, had to get a pic of Amy and her sweet daughter Rachel:

Which leads me to the start of the short work week of Thanksgiving and the cooking/ baking began. A gluten free chocolate-pecan caramel cheesecake on Monday night (pre-baked in this shot)

Pecan pie Tuesday night:

The rest of the cooking was Wednesday night in to Thursday morning. Chestnut dressing, rolls, green bean casserole, yams, deviled eggs and cornish game hen.
I got this gadget that sits in the water with the eggs and turns colors to tell you how done the middle of the eggs are. Takes in to account the number of eggs and how much water is in the pan. Williams Sonoma is great!
Biscuits were the best of everything I made, thank you Sarah!!!!
The hen was tender and moist, must do that again!
All so I could travel 45 minutes with all the above mentioned food to see these faces :-) There was a couple of spillage events, need to get better carriers for my glassware. We spent Thanksgiving with my family. Hopefully we'll get to see Billy's family for Christmas! (Shawna, come down *hint hint*)

My brother Louis, me and and my sister Leah:

My niece Ashley, me and my niece Joan:

My nephew Nicki, my brother-in-law's girlfriend's son, my nephew Stevie and Dawn's other two sons.
My mom, me, BIL Kenny, my other dad and my nephew Stevie

My mom and I went for the first time to Garden Ridge to Christmas shop on Thanksgiving Day:

My big finds and I paid no where near the price on the boxes. All three of these cost a total of $80!:
The pre-lit tree went in our bedroom so the tree could be seen from the upper windows from the street:

Billy will hook up the reindeer and tree outside when he feels all better:

Friday, I cleaned house and Billy helped me finish when we got home from work so we could start putting up Christmas decorations. Saturday Billy started to get sick, so we watched the memorial service for our former minister via webcast (technology is wonderful!) Billy didn't make anyone sick and no one else had to hear all the coughing. It was a beautiful tribute to someone sold out for God. (More on that later) That night, we took dinner over to these beautiful new parents. I got to hold Emily for two minutes while Billy waited in the car.

Which leads us to today when we finally got the rest of the decorations up and Billy is feeling better!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with gratitude in the presence of family or friends!
