Cherry Breeze Pie

This daily thing might be a bit harder than I thought, but I'm still doing it Kim M. :-) My thoughtful entries take days to materialize and I'm more a big picture person. Maybe this will encourage me to share the little funnies of every day. Routine/ rut settles in quite naturally at our house. One of us loves the routine, I do not. It will be nice to have the little stories told so that when I see people I can focus on them :-)

So, I am happy Billy is finally feeling all better. I'm a bit cranky and trying to exercise self control while still trying to be appreciative that God made me female. This time is so much worse after the IUI treatments last year. Since I wasn't feeling well last night, I relaxed a bit which is so hard to do during the holidays and still wrapped Billy's Christmas gifts. With heating pad firmly in place it was perfect as he was leading last night and not at home. There were a couple of gifts under there from him to me and I did NOT peak. I must guiltily admit I have done so in previous years. I picked it up and shook, but no unwrapping or peeling back paper at all :-)

This is the first year in the new house and I keep rearranging the Christmas decorations I put up. I wrapped ribbon on the banister Monday and then took it down last night. I may make Christmas bows with them instead. I'll let you know if I can actually accomplish pretty bows. I'm still working on getting that e-christmas card posted, I haven't given up!

We are also still working on our Christmas calendar. Billy does this every year. He charts out with great fun the dates of Christmas parties, plays, dinners, as well as when we'll watch what Christmas movies, shopping, etc. I'll have to post a copy of the calendar when it's complete. I really like how it adds to the excitement of the year. Tomorrow night we had to decide between 3 events. It was a matter of who invited first. We do look forward to the Bowman's Christmas party every year and are glad we got that invite first. I will still want to see how the dinner at church goes as well as Ashley B's birthday party. I really don't like saying no to anyone maybe since I'm a quality time on my love languages. I think it's an honor to be invited and included. Speaking on invites Shawna & Tony (Billy's sis & BIL)invited us to go skiing in February. This will be a great time as it's right around Billy's birthday and our 4th anniversary. We are looking forward to seeing Eric and Erin too, our niece and nephew. They are wonderful children who are so glad to see us and spend time together.

I made the Turnbow cherry breeze pie Monday night with a gluten free crust, not too bad :-) Here are the ingredients. You chill it and right before you serve, you add the cherry filling on top. It normally calls for a graham cracker crust, but I had left over a no roll gf one, so I baked that first.

On a fellow 'waiting mom's' blog I saw this very encouraging scripture:

"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3

Hmmm...that narrows it down!

I still want to come over some time and learn how to make things from edible ingredients...maybe after the holidays...
