Here's #1 an example of my husband's creativity and #2 a chance to invite anyone local who would like to join us. Many people are already out of town by then, but just in case..email at my gmail account or leave a comment if you'd like more information, you know like namely where we live now :-)
Twas a night in December and at the Turnbow's
Many were invited to celebrate (a few did impose).
All came with one nice and one funny gift to exchange
While cookies were made with yummy decorations arranged.
There were games to be played and fellowship for all.
Sounds filled the house and boughs decked the hall.
It was warm and friendly; a true Christmas scene...
Then Mr. Turnbow awoke from his wonderful dream.
"Honey, you'll never guess the dream I just had!
We hosted a Christmas party where no one was sad!
We should obey this vision that was surely from God
And invite dear friends both near and abroad!"
"Yes," said Mrs. Turnbow, "We can decorate cookies that we'll provide
While others can bring drinks, goodies, and whatever else they decide.
"And for entertainment," said ole Billy, "I have an idea you'll adore,
We'll ask each couple to bring two gifts that we'll all draw for."
"One can be a 'real' gift of some value, say $10 -$20 in price
That can be purchased or just something from home will suffice.
The other gift is meant to be funny; a gag gift just for laughs.
It's sure to make for a fun night of entertainment that will last."
The twinkle in Lori's eyes said she did agree,
"Let's send out an evite for December 20th at 7:30!"
They typed away happily singing Christmas tunes
Hoping all would be able to come and reply real soon!
