Ways to escape from the heat

We definitely know summer has arrived :-) High's in the triple digits. To escape from the heat, we had great solutions this weekend!

We spent Friday night on what felt like a mini-vacation for the evening. Pool and hot tub in the Veale's new add-on, we had such a great time relaxing and catching up with Brooke & Chris. I forgot my borrowed camera so I took their pic off their blog,
hehe.

Saturday we had an open house, hope to see the results of that soon :-) We had to vacate our current house for a few hours:

So we went to visit the new house :-) The windows as promised by the builder with actual walls :)

We followed that up with a trip to the Outlets for a bit and got a bite to eat. We then got a call from Billy's brother & sister-in-law that they wanted the model version of our house up in Melissa. We lead the way there only to found out it's locked mid afternoon on a Saturday. We weren't sure why, but I pointed out things to Teresa through the windows. Billy's brother went around back and yes, was able to get in, but set off the alarm to do so. Curiosity definitely killed the cat. Our niece kept saying, that's why the front door was locked...
We rested a bit and headed over to Stonebriar Centre for my sweet friend Katy's birthday, the ten of us had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory:

Then off to watch Get Smart which was clean and funny so that means I liked it.

Today, we had our sweet friends, the Alexander's over for lunch. It feels so good after being gone for a few weeks to really get to spend some quality time with old friends. I got a great 2 hour nap this afternoon and then we headed up to our church for the family carnival to kick off VBS (which I was recruited to help for while there, I was glad to be asked. We were out of town when the planning for this was going on). So VBS the next three nights :-)
We saw our sweet friends, the England's and Billy got to hold their 4 month-old little Bethany. Robin had the right idea, she was inside for a bit.

Snow cones, gues what color Billy's was? I chose red :-)
