I am so relieved to be done with this project!! It's been three months in the making with plenty of prayer, seeking of advice and thought. This 19 page mini scrapbook of our lives will enable the birth mother of our future child to have peace of mind about who is raising her child. I'm not sure what verbiage is right, I would tend to think it's all of our child in the end. It's the one benefit from coming from a family with remarriage. Titles don't matter. I love my step brother's just like my brother. Those extra words have such a negative connotation. I would never want to hide that our child is adopted because we are not ashamed, at the same time I want them to feel part of our family. I found some scrapbook embellishments today geared towards adoption and it just made me feel good about doing something that makes this real.
Here's a peek of the profile taken from my borrowed camera, had to have the flash or it was too blurry to see. You have to click the play right arrow or it will just stay on the cover page. You can adjust the speed of the slide show at will also. Would love feedback/ suggestions from moms/ women who have made one and anyone really who wants to comment. I haven't sent it yet, so not to late to add anything. And, THANK YOU to Liesl who leant me hers as an example, I didn't even know where to start with out you!:

Great! Great! Great!
Although I couldn't read it, I could tell it was great. I saw alot of good pictures and variety of pictures showing many sides of you and Billy. The pictures with children are especially good. They'll allow the birthmoms to envision you with children. And kudos for putting in wedding pictures. One of my kid's birthmoms commented how much she liked seeing our wedding photos because she could tell we were committed to each other.
One thing I'd suggest is that you and Billy pray over the profile before you send it off.
Love and Prayers,
Liesl
Hello Lori,
We didn't have to do a profile for our adoption but I think it would have been great to give our girls so they could see what life was like before them. It looks great! Doesn't it feel good to have one more step of the adoption process checked off your list. Everyone says enjoy the journey, but I just wanted to be home with our girls and have the waiting end. I am not the most patient person.
Blessings!!
GREAT book! I could read nearly every word (when you click on the page it zoomed great). I'm so happy for you guys. I know putting your life on paper must be an exhausting and humbling experience. This also means that once you put it in the mail you are truly opening the door and letting go to wait for something that is out of your hands. That is honestly the best preparation for parenting...anything that helps us to realize that we are not in control:-) We are looking forward to seeing the blessings that await the two of you.
Congratulations! I know what a daunting task this was for you, and I am so proud of you for doing it! What a relief to send that off!

I didn't ever get to see the very last page completed, but everything else looked absolutely wonderful! You did an amazing job!
I was honored to see your adoption profile last weekend. I really think that you and Billy were so thoughtful and did a really good job.
It all reminds me of my favorite phrase that I always tell my step-daughter, Sabrina:
"I did not give you the gift of life, but life gave me the gift of you."
Wow - so excited for you - the book looks great! - Robin
I want to be adopted by y'all. What a great couple! Thanks for sharing

I've been following your story for the past couple of months. You did an amazing job on the book for the adoption agency. It shows the many sides of you and Billy. I keep both of you in my thoughts and can't wait to hear how your journey continues.......you are brave for being so open with your story.
Leigh=)
