Our closet under the stairs is where the boys and I spent the better part of an hour today while tornadoes were in the DFW area. Most people I know get in the bathtub, but we don't have one on the first floor. Our neighborhood wasn't effected, but better to be safe than sorry with little ones. The closet did buffer the noise from the high wind, hard rain and city sirens going off which was scaring Matthew. He did get to dig in to his Easter basket which I had hidden in there until Sunday. He also got to eat chocolate, jelly beans and mints. I had to wake Daniel up from his afternoon nap to bring him down. He snuggled up in my arms for the majority of the time.
There was 12 tornadoes verified to have touched down with hundreds of homes damaged in the metroplex. I'm just glad there were NO serious injuries reported!

Oh I'm glad you and your family were safe. I grew up in the midwest and those storms are scary.
